Read the record from your own code
Every record DATOM has published can be read by a program. The interface is read only, needs no key and no account, and returns exactly what the published record says.
AI helps DATOM read studies and draft summaries. AI cannot be fully trusted in science on its own, which is why every finding on a record is tied to a named study anyone can open and check. When you show a DATOM verdict, link to its record so your reader can do the same.
What you can read
| Request | What comes back |
|---|---|
GET https://datom.science/records-index.json | Every published record, with its claim, verdict and grade. |
GET https://datom.science/claims/{id}.json | One record in full: its findings and the studies behind them. Not every record in the index has one yet; the index entry and the record page are always there. |
GET https://ebv5sdivvc.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/api/record/{id} | A readiness record (RR-), a question someone asked (q-), or the list of readiness records (RR-index, up to 100). |
GET https://ebv5sdivvc.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/api/figure/{id} | A Figure Record: a statistical claim checked against the official series it names. |
GET https://ebv5sdivvc.execute-api.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/api/board | The questions people have asked DATOM to check, most requested first. Takes an optional limit from 1 to 100. |
The full contract, with every field and status code, is the OpenAPI specification.
Connect an AI assistant
An MCP server reads the same published records for an AI assistant. It has three read only tools: search the records, get one record, and get one Figure Record. Every answer carries the address it came from, and the server never forms a verdict of its own: it repeats the published one or says it has none. It is available on request from info@datom.science.
What this is not
- It cannot write anything, and it never sees a private ledger. An organization's private records are not available through it.
- It has no version number yet and no uptime commitment. Fields may be added; we will not silently change what a field means.
- Requests are rate limited. If you get HTTP 429, or a 5xx status, wait and retry with a growing delay.
- The files on datom.science are cached for up to ten minutes.
